How to Find The Old Mill Cottage

The Old Mill Cottage is easy to find....
Into Scotland and thence to the Isle of Skye...
By car from central Scotland follow the signs for the M9 and then A90 out of Edinburgh or the A82 from Glasgow. In both cases you should be aiming at Spean Bridge. Once there follow the signs for Invergarry and then turn left to Kyle of Lochalsh on the A87. Follow this road to Kyle of Lochalsh and cross the Skye Bridge on to the island of Skye.
Via the Skye Bridge and Uig
From the bridge (Kyle of Lochalsh) turn right at the roundabout. Travel
north on the A87 towards Portree. Follow
the signs for Uig
(still on the A87) and when you get there you
will see a road on the right signed A855. Follow the road through Kilmuir
and Duntulm
and when you reach Kilmaluag, the old Mill Cottage is clearly signed on its own to the left.
Via the Skye Bridge and Staffin
From the bridge (Kyle of Lochalsh) turn right at the roundabout. Travel north on the A87 towards Portree. Go through the centre of Portree town and out the other end following the signs for Staffin
on the A855. After that keep going through Flodigarry
until you reach Kilmaluag. When you get there the old Mill
Cottage is clearly signed on its own to the right.
Kilmaluag is in the Skye and Lochalsh region of Scotland, in the north east peninsula of Skye, known as Trotternish. Below are links to the websites for timetables for coach, train, ferry and air travel:

Although you will be leaving the mainland of Scotland to stay on an island, there are splendid views of the mainland from Trotternish. The Torridon mountains can be seen from Trotternish. This picture was taken in the morning, showing the beautiful morning light. The mainland is to the east and the sun rises over the hills on the mainland.
